An email about things and stuff from a Sister Missionary

Friday night the weather decided to become my best friend. It decided to snow!! I was pretty happy by this event. My companion then became pretty worried about me with all the excitement I was showing. It's okay to act like a kid, no matter what age you actually are. The good thing is that I didn't act crazy in-front of anyone, so it's all good.

On Saturday we did exchanges and it was pretty fun to be with my STL Sister Fowler. One investigator we saw found a deer outside her front door. She ran to grab some corn chips and threw them at the deer. The deer started crunching on them and she thought it was super hilarious, it was funny to see her laugh at the deer crunching. It was also cool because that investigator, my STL I was with, and I all had the same birthday. Also, that investigator had "onion goggles" and made Sister Fowler and I try it on and took a picture of us, super funny!

 I was able to in ride a 1930 Ford. A less-active member that we've stopped by a few times bought it. He was super excited about his car and then he gave us a ride in the back of his car. It. was. so. fun!

There were two Zone- gatherings that occurred this past week, and each were about 2 hours each. I always love it when we get together as a zone. I love being around other missionaries. Some are super spiritual, some are crazy, some are perfectionist, some aren't perfect with the rules, but we all are crazy and get along pretty well for the most part!

Sunday night was a YSA Face-to-Face with Elder Oaks and Elder Ballard. For those who haven't seen it, it was pretty amazing. The age for YSA is from about age 18-30, but really anyone can watch it off of lds.org or mormon.org (don't remember what lds website it's posted on) and it's also on YouTube.

Sorry for all the short paragraphs and for not having many of them. After the car crash and the chiropractor stuff being over with, I don't have anything else really going on.
You all are amazing and beautiful and I love you! Stay you!! :) :)

Shoutout;
-So before I left for my mission, some people wrote a scripture or a nice, small note on a notecard. Shane wrote a scripture down and I was able to use it for rec and for a meeting with non-members.
-Thank you for the unexpected snow, but unlike what you thought, it really isn't ok to leave after one day.
-Love ya dad for your crazy car rides and your goofy attitude when you showed off your cars to everyone you know.

And the Word Goes Around

It looks like the word is officially out to everyone about the car accident. I have lots of you that have been emailing me and are worried to some degree. So a letter to everyone-- I'm 100% perfectly perfect and loving life. I'm so grateful for the accident. I love when crazy things happen, it makes life more adventurous. Unlike many of you, I like it when the most insane things happen to me. The members in my ward came up to me on Sunday and were all so worried about me because last week I wasn't able to go. It was super sweet that they were all concerned. I told them I only got a little concussion. They all thought I was crazy for calling it little and saying only, but it wasn't really a big deal.

Finally being able to be out and about I've found that it is easier to get in contact with a lot of our investigators. I was also able to relate to a lot of people because of this accident. I'm thankful for this experience and the blessings that it truly has brought me. I am excited to be able to have more crazy experiences in the future!

At Zone-Conference on Thursday we had a general authority come over to us to do a mission-tour/ to check us out and see how we are doing. Elder Anderson, of the seventy, and his wife spoke to us for a little bit. It was super cool to hear from the both of them!

My wonderful and lovely Jordyn Howard got baptized on the 11th at 11 on the 11th month. She's such a special and beautiful girl. Her little siblings are crazy and insane and I love them with all my heart.
Her dad and everyone on that side of the family are not members, but they are all so nice. After the baptism, we went over to their house really quick for some refreshments/ lunch.

One night this investigator wanted to have Sister Aversa and I over for dinner. It was too much of a last minute to cancel on our actual dinner. So that night we had two dinners. Our second dinner we had deer. What had happened is they found a baby deer in their back yard and had frozen to death. This family called whoever is in-charge of the wild-life or forest or something and got permission to have it. I tried a piece, then it kinda grossed me out so then I had to call quits. They told us ahead of time that we were OK not to have any of it, so I was luckily off the hook!

On Friday I went to go see the Doctor for my follow-up with the concussion. I was officially released from resting. They signed an official piece of paper and gave it to me. I thought it was super funny, so I decided to put it up on my white board.

On Saturday I did a service project with a bunch of missionaries in my area. For the first time ever, since I can remember, I did some official raking of the leaves. I am now a pro at raking leaves, so if anyone needs any help, I'm here.

Something random, but I think it's pretty cool! This week I heard talks and read some scriptures concerning angels being around us. I looked back on my life and remembered when I would be sitting in the car and imagine my little imaginary friends running along side the car. They would be on the power lines and do some tricks off houses and such. When I looked back on this memory, I think I had an imagination like that because I truly could feel the presence of Angels being around me, I just never actually understood that feeling before.

Shoutouts;
-Love my family for them all emailing me last week and most of them emailing me this week :) Hope you had a wonderful missionary moment with him!! P.S. *whispers* he called you Dave
-I met Chuck, thanks for sending him to me haha, he's pretty cool!
-I love you my football boy, cuz you never noticed that I gave you a shoutout, so here's one to just say you're awesome, and awesome at having your picture taken
-Happy Veterans Day!
-Happy, yesterday, 4 months Sister Reynolds!! It's crazy how fast this has gone for you!!

I.... ummm.... uhhhh... This week I was grounded

So I'm gonna start this email nice and simple. I am going to set-up the beginning part of it like one of my dear friends does..

Monday(Oct. 30th): Nothing interesting happened besides regular P-Day stuff

Tuesday: HALLOWEEN!! I had a glow-stick sunglasses party and started growing my unicorn!!

My companion and I had to be inside by 7pm. We went to dinner and before we went home we stopped by at 2 members' homes and did a silly "trick-or-treat", and that was the extent of our candy. We just chilled out that evening and it was kinda nice! I also organized my desk and got a white board. I decided to be creative and make the foam roller box into a stand for the white board.

Wednesday: TEMPLE DAY!! I love going to the temple with the missionaries that I serve around! Going to the temple in general is just such an amazing experience for me in general. Driving home from the temple I felt something was off. I don't know why I felt so uncomfortable, but I did, and I didn't like it, and then...

Now the rest just became a blur because I had a little bit of a brain damage so I can't name what happened on what day.

Car accident;
As I was driving, because my companion can't drive, there was a car in front of me who wasn't being very smart. He/ she was cutting off a bunch of people and swerving between lanes. Then I was cut off by this car and they pushed on the brakes for no reason, no one was even in front of them. This car then goes to one of the left turning lanes. I was on the far left lane that went straight and I had a green light. The left turning lanes had a red light, and all of a sudden this same unsafe car decides to change their mind. They stick half of their car in my lane and don't move. Already being close to this car, I slowed down, thinking they would move. Then not thinking about anything else, the car behind me, who was a truck, was too close to me and hit the back of my bumper, not with a lot of force. The car in front of us left the scene so it was just the car behind us and us. He was annoyed with the car that was in front of us, because he was also cut-off by them as well and then they caused this to happen. He was super nice about it all and gave us his insurance because he was too close to us anyways and didn't see fast enough to hit the brakes.

After affect;
So I didn't notice anything out-of-the-ordinary until about 2-3 hrs after the crash. We did service then came home for lunch. I was stretching out on a foam roller and I woke-up sleeping on the floor. Apparently, according to my companion, other things happened once we got home and I can't recall what occurred. I also woke-up on the couch and then another time on the couch with a blanket over me. We then went to the library and Sister Aversa started feeling a little dizzy with a bit of a headache. After dinner Wednesday night our nurse told us to go home and sleep.

Thursday: The next day my companion was feeling better, and I wasn't. We both received a Priesthood Blessing from our wonderful District Leader. We called the nurse and she contacted the surgeon, they both agreed that I should go to the chiropractor. So that's what I did, but nothing super big came out from that besides knowing that I got a concussion from the whiplash. I never hit my head tho. For most of this day I just rested and slept.

Friday: I rested some more.

Saturday: I felt completely fine. This morning we went to the car and it wouldn't unlock. After many texts back and forth between us and our leaders and a good couple of minutes we found out how to take the plastic off of the handle and get inside the car. It turned out that the car was dead. I learned how to jump start a car!! Super happy about that. We went to an appointment, and she didn't let us in so we stood outside her house the whole time. After standing up for so long and then driving around, I didn't feel so wonderful anymore. Halfway through the day I started feeling nauseous again. We called our nurse and then I was driven to Urgent Care. While I was there the wonderful Brother Brent Jones, the guy in the stake in charge of the missionaries, met us there. I'm not exactly sure how he found out, but I was glad to see him there and see how fast he could get there. I was told, once again, that I had a concussion. This Dr, who also was a member, told us to take it easy.

Sunday: I wasn't allowed to go to church.

Monday: No P- Day for me and I stayed home.

Tuesday: Also stayed home. I bought a dress online with my member and my previous companion. I was about to cut/ hem it.

Wednesday: FREEDOM!! Now I'm outta time so email me any questions and I'll get back to you next week. I am back to normal ;)

Shoutouts;
-Thanks to my grandma for the unicorn that I could let it grow and entertain myself
-Thanks to my nana for the glow-stick glasses that we could have a little party that way
-Thanks to my nana and grandma letting me go visit other temples when I was visiting
-Thanks to my wonderful temple friend and him updating me on what's happening in Houston.
-Thanks to my siblings and parents for playing monopoly with me on the wii or even the board game.
